Universal Scratch Tester 413

Scratch tester for surfaces, extremely finely graduated (0.01 N steps), with various test tips.  All methods that can be used with the SCRATCH HARDNESS TESTER 413 are basically based on the same method: The sample is mounted on a rotating table (number of revolutions in the standard version: 5 min-1). The test tool is attached to a load arm with adjustable weight that allows the tool pressure to be adjusted to the sample (load range of 0 – 10 N in 0.1 N increments and load range of 0 – 1 N in 0.01 N increments). The resistance of the sample to this effect is assessed visually using the scratch track (refer to the operating instructions for details).

Pendulum Hardness Tester 299/300

Damping of the oscillations of a pendulum resting on the coating material in accordance with the standards. Konig and Persoz pendulum interchangeable. Dust cover included in the basic unit. Optional accessories: Opto-electronic counter with acoustic signal at test end with manual or automatic deflection of pendulum.

Indentation Hardness Tester 263

A steel block with circular indented inserts is applied onto the test surface and produces a pressure mark, the length of which is measured with a microscope. The impression hardness in accordance with Buchholz is established from the length of the impression, using the standard table

.

Variable Impact Tester 304

ERICHSEN Impact Tester 304 are used for determination of impact resistance, deformability and tensibility of coatings and substrates as well as adhesion of the coatings. The ball impact test simulates this type of stress under standardised conditions. A ball punch of defined weight the bottom of which is of fixed diameter, is dropped freely down a guide tube from an agreed or variable height.  ASTM D 2794 ISO 6272-1 ISO 6272-2

Scratch Hardness Tester 430P-SMART

The motor-driven SCRATCH HARDNESS TESTER 430 P-Smart is a universal testing instrument designed for carrying out a wide range of tests on varnished and plastic surfaces to determine their resistance to scratches and cuts. Single cuts, parallel cuts and – by turning the specimen by 90° – cross-cuts can be applied to test panels of various thicknesses. The SCRATCH HARDNESS TESTER 430P-Smart is particularly provided for adhesion tests using the cross hatch cut method (in accordance with all mostly required standards) and for specific plastics tests according with Opel (scratch resistance and writing effect). For these as well as for further tests numerous setting possibilities on the basic instrument and a large variety of test tools are available to perform DIN EN ISO 2409, ASTM D 3359, JIS K 5600-5-6, SNV 37 111, VDA 621-411, ECCA T6, GME 60280, GMW14688 & many other test methods.  Using the SCRATCH HARDNESS TESTER 430 P-Smart, series testing can be conducted with much greater ease. The results of testing are reproducible and well-defined.  Optionally with manually actuated/motor-driven loading force and manually actuated/automatic test panel turn.  Operation, documentation and data management via ERICHSEN-App

Multi-Cross Hatch Cutter 295

Successful instrument for producing a cross cut pattern in the coating to be tested Besides the universally applicable single blade instrument with folding ruler. 5 special multi-cutter versions available for tests in accordance with the standards listed. ISO 2409, EN ISO 24091), JIS K 5600-5-6, EN 13523-64(formerly ECCA-T6), ASTM D 3359, VDA 621-411, DBL 5416, ISO 2409-1972, BS 3900:E6, NF T 30-038 (all withdrawn)

Available option is the CrossScan 295/XVI Automatic  Cross Hatch Cut  Rating System ; evaluation software; consists of a handy dome for placing on the crosshatch pattern to be evaluated; equipped with camera, LED lighting and potentiometer for intensity control of lighting (5% – 100%). The evaluation takes place via the included software (PC not included).

Cylindrical Mandrel Bend Tester 266-S

Lever-type instrument for testing the flexibility and the adhesive properties of coatings when these are subjected to bending stresses. With 14 easy exchangeable mandrels (diameter 2 – 32 mm). Testing with the cylindrical mandrel bending tester determines the greatest cylinder diameter at which a coating will show cracking or flaking subsequent to bending. Model 266 S allows the testing of samples up to a width of 100 mm.

MINITEST 725-735-745

Non-destructive coating thickness measurement on steel (F) and non-ferrous metals (N), measuring sensors up to 15 mm (F) and 7 mm (N) The MiniTest is ergonomically designed and its rounded shape allows the MiniTest gauge to fit perfectly into the palm of your hand. Designed for utmost flexibility for quality control and inspections.

TNO Paint Borer 518MC & 518USB

Thickness measurement of all coatings on any substrate Measurement of individual layers of a multi-layer coating
Universal Thickness Measuring Instrument
Thickness measurements in accordance with  the standardised  wedge cut method.  Combines the advantages of P.I.G. 455 with greater ease of operation: a conical bore of defined angle is made in the coating. Measuring microscope, easily and accurately focused over the cut out. Minimum specimen damage allows a large number of test points. Specimen holder for very small specimens (10 mm dia.) available.  DIN 50 986 ISO 2808 ASTM D 4138 ASTM D 5796

With the 518 USB version, connectable to a PC, laptop/WINDOWS-tablet, a convenient digitally supported way is given for visual recognition/ detection/measurement and documentation. An appropriate software is included
