Wet Film Thickness Gauge 433
One instrument only for 4 measuring ranges: 5 – 100 microns, 100 – 500 microns, 300 – 700 microns, 700 – 1500 microns. This comb-shaped instrument, made of stainless steel, stands out for high accuracy.

Inexpensive simply operating instrument. The stainless steel “comb” with tooth lengths varying by equal amounts is applied perpendicular to the wet film and the film thickness can be read off on the last tooth that made contact with the wet coating. 3 versions with measuring ranges 120/600/1200 microns. Also available is the Model 333-S: Large version acc. to BASF for road marking paint
A hardened and ground double wheel with an eccentric cam in the middle is rolled over a newly applied film. The wetting line on the middle cam is read off on a scale as wet film thickness. Total measuring range: 1500 microns, available in 8 different sub-ranges.
The Model 504-V drying recorder automatically registers and records the drying behavior of paints and similar coatings. This device consists of a metal housing with cover plate which also serves as a support surface for 6 glass strips measuring 305 x 25 mm, on which the coatings to be tested have been applied. Using six testing needles the Drying Time Recorder can conduct testing with variable testing speeds, and choice of 20 pre-programmed running times from 7.5 minutes to 96 hours. Other running times (in increments of 30s) are available on request.
For testing the degree of through drying of a coating. A test plunger faced with nylon fabric and loaded with a defined weight is lowered onto the test surface for a period of 10 s, and then turned through 90º. The resulting effect on the coating is evaluated after lifting the test plunger
A simple plunger type press for measuring Degree of Dryness in accordance with DIN 53 150 in the range from 2 to 7. A glass tube Ballotini dispenser to measure Degree of Dryness 1 is available as accessory.
Micro-controller controlled film applicator, freely adjustable film application speeds, adjustable application lengths
The Film Applicator and Drying Time Recorder COATMASTER series is the enhanced successor of the worldwide established COATMASTER 509 MC is now available in five versions- 510, 510XL, 510XXL, BASIC-G & BASIC-V.
An electromotive film applicator device is best used when the film thickness must be absolutely uniform across the entire surface. This enables a reliable statement about the relation of wet to dry film thickness, and the production of a larger number of exactly similar patterns. The automatic application process eliminates irregularities and inaccuracies that are inevitable when the film is applied manually. The film applicator and drying time recorder COATMASTER 510 is a compact combined film applicator and tester with membrane keyboard. The parallel drying test enables an objective comparisons of drying properties across different coating materials. Exchangeable specimen platforms, i.e. glass plate, vacuum suction and heated vacuum suction plates. Further options available, details on request.
AUTOSPRAY 481 (type APL 1.2) is intended for the uniform and reproducible application of coating materials using an air atomizing spray gun with a flow cup. Mobile, Explosion Proof, Stainless Steel cabinet construction. System for quick color change available as option,
•Speed of spraying frame adjustable 0.2 up to 1.0 m/s,
•Vertical or Horizontal spraying range adjustment.
The automatic spray applicator is ready for use and trial-run upon delivery. No additional installation work is necessary.
Explosion Protection Standards: DIN EN 50016 / VDE 0170/ 0171, Part 3, ATEX II 2G T4 / ATEX II 3G T4
Produces 6 or 10 film strips of graded thicknesses in one operation. Film thickness range: 10 – 500 microns. Suitable for assessing paint properties in relation to film thickness: opacity, colour strength, drying properties etc.
A film applicator with variable gap height. Clearance adjustable in the range 0 – 1000 microns by means of a micrometer screw (accuracy 1 microns). Available for film widths 80/150/220 mm
