The UNICOATER 409 is a budget-priced, motor-driven film applicator for defined and reproducible application of coating materials on very different plain substrates.  Irregularities and inaccuracies inevitable when applying films by hand, are avoided using the UNICOATER 409.  This results in the following important advantages: – an even and reproducible film thickness over the whole surface – the possibility to produce very quickly a large number of identical samples.

The centrifugal paint-film applicator, Model 334 Smart is a bench mounted instrument, consisting of a sheet metal housing, touch panel, specimen holder with collecting trough and protective hood. The speed and the application time are continuously variable between (100 – 2,000)min-1 and (0 – 999)s. The selected speed is shown on the touch panel. At the end of the preset centrifugation time the applicator switches off automatically and the specimen can be taken out of the holder.

Purpose and application: The Model 334 Smart centrifugal paint-film applicator is used for producing uniform coats on test panels (edge length: 80 to 200 mm) for testing purposes. The advantages of this application method are the affordability (time savings) and its outstanding accuracy and reproducibility. A robust instrument for gauging the degree of fineness-of-grind of liquid dispersions of pigments in the range 0 -15/25/50/100 microns. The substance is filled into the wedge-shaped grooves and drawn down with a blade. Rippling occurs at the point where pigments particles are bigger than the depth of the groove measured in microns.

For rapid determination of density of liquids. A sphere of volume 100 or 10 ml is immersed in a beaker the contents of which have been previously weighed. The increase in liquid level given in gms corresponds with 100 or 10 x the value of the density. The equipment is easily cleaned after use.
